Rwanda D CampbellObstetrics and Gynecology

From a woman’s first annual exam to prenatal care to menopause and beyond, Dr. Rwanda Campbell helps women through all of life’s milestones with confidence. Dr. Campbell fully embraces the “Knowledge is Power” belief. She is committed to providing patient care in a compassionate, caring manner while collaborating with her patients to improve their health.

Dr. Campbell begins each visit with a personalized discussion with you about the reasons for your visit, including concerns, symptoms, family planning and other issues. She provides reassurance, education, and evidence-based options, and is a strong advocate for preventative health, regularly emphasizing the benefits of eating less and moving more.

An experienced physician and surgeon, Dr. Campbell is a Board Certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist, a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. By way of her extensive education, residency, and work history, Dr. Campbell has lived across the United States and overseas. Born in Atlanta, and raised in Houston, she received her BA degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH followed by her MD degree from the University of Chicago. Dr. Campbell expanded her training while completing both an internship and residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego; as a physician with the Navy, she also spent time in Japan and Sicily. She has also worked as an OB/GYN in St. Cloud and Woodbury, MN, and Dyersburg, TN.

Dr. Campbell and her family have always been partial to Minnesota, which was one of their reasons for returning. The unique opportunity to live in a community committed to quality health care, an excellent education system, and balanced work/family life attracted her to the Glenwood area. A strong influence on her decision to join Glacial Ridge Health System in May 2011 was the sincerity and commitment of the staff towards to each other as well as our patients.

Nurse-Midwife

CNMs are registered nurses who have completed an accredited nurse-midwife program and passed the certification exam administered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Nurse midwives have been practicing in the U.S. since the 1920s and provide a full range of valuable primary health care services for women, including gynecologic and obstetric services. Our experienced Certified Nurse Practitioners (CNPs) support the delivery team by providing prenatal and postpartum care in the clinic. They may also assist one of our many physicians that can perform C-Section deliveries.

Lactation Consultant

A certified lactation consultant specializes in breastfeeding and has expertise and training in dealing with the complex problems associated with lactation. They help women experiencing breastfeeding problems, such as latching difficulties, painful nursing, and low milk production. They also help babies who aren’t gaining enough weight.
Glacial Ridge Health System has an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) on staff. Quinn Jacobs, RN, has passed the board examination and is available for lactation consultation on both an inpatient and outpatient basis to provide one-on-one assistance following birth. “Providing lactation consultation is an additional component of the continuity of care to ensure a positive experience during an important time in parents and babies’ lives,” said Jacobs.

For women who want to return to work or school, lactation consultants help them meet their breastfeeding goals. They’re familiar with breastfeeding equipment, like breast pumps, and give breastfeeding moms tips on how to safely store expressed breast milk.

Call 320.634.4521 Monday through Friday for a lactation consultation.
