Family Medicine with Obstetrics
Dr. Bausman joins our team in October 2025 at Glenwood Medical Center and will begin seeing patients at Brooten Medical Center in January 2026.
Growing up in Hamburg, MN, Dr. Payton Bausman always knew she wanted to serve in a community that values strong connections and family. Her passion for medicine began early and grew stronger through experiences volunteering in her local ER and working as a CNA in college. During medical school, witnessing her first delivery sparked a special interest in caring for women and families through pregnancy and beyond.
Dr. Bausman completed her undergraduate degree at Luther College in Iowa, medical school and residency at the University of Minnesota in Duluth, and an additional fellowship in obstetrics. This extra year of advanced OB training gave her extensive hands-on experience in prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care.
Her medical interests include obstetrics, women’s health, pediatrics, and preventive care. She values listening to patients and creating care plans that fit their goals and lifestyle—whether that’s preparing for a healthy pregnancy, navigating the postpartum season, or keeping the whole family well.
Dr. Bausman and her husband, Nathan, were drawn to Glenwood for its friendly people, outdoor opportunities, and closeness to family. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, golfing, cross-country skiing, lake activities, and relaxing with a Hallmark movie. Their golden retriever, Teddie, is always part of the fun.
