Certified Lactation Consultant
Raised in Sacred Heart, MN, Quinn has always wanted to be a nurse because of their ability to impact the lives of others. She got her start in health care at 16 while working as a Nursing Assistant. She attended the University of Minnesota-Morris for her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and received her RN degree at Alexandria Technical and Community College. Quinn joined the team at Glacial Ridge Hospital in 2007 and became the Emergency Department Nurse Manager in 2014.
The same year, Quinn completed training to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). It was important for her to become an IBCLC because of the struggle with breastfeeding she experienced with her first child. She had to figure it out on her own and felt the whole experience was much more difficult than it needed to be. Eventually, she figured it out and began taking more classes and educating herself on breastfeeding. She also understands the challenges that go along with breastfeeding a premature baby. Her second child was born six weeks early and spent a week in a NICU, however, she was much more knowledgeable regarding breastfeeding and had no problems at all.
Quinn feels there is nothing more rewarding than helping another mother with the natural process of breastfeeding and making her experience a positive one. Her goal is to help mothers be able to breastfeed as long as they desire without complications.
In her spare time, Quinn spends time with her husband and two active boys. They like to camp, hike and enjoy water sports. She also enjoys running and training for half and full marathons.
